Refining Week, May 15th 2015

Nigeria's richest man, plans to build Africa's biggest refinery. The Dangote Refinery at Lekki near Lagos will have capacity of 400,000 barrels per day. The latest news is that it is to use UOP technology for many of its process units.

In Greece, 6 workers were injured at a fire in the  Aspropyrgos Refinery.

    News that we have been waiting for for a long time, came from India: IndianOil's Paradip Refinery starts crude processing

    The new Paradip Refinery, at 300,000 bpd and 12.2 Nelson Complexity is a great example of what a modern refinery should be.

    In Iraq, the Basrah Refinery Upgrading Project which has also been delayed for years, finally has a PMC contractor. Technip which has previously been awarded similar work in Iraq, has won PMC contract for the Basra Refinery Upgrading project
